Wintertime is one of my favorite times of year to target redfish as they are congregated in the shallow creeks and bays. We’ve experienced some beautiful weather here in Myrtle Beach this Winter which has allowed us to do a lot of sightfishing for redfish in shallow water. Look for the ideal sightfishing conditions on those days with light wind, mild temperatures, sunny skies, and a mid day low tide. We’ve been catching reds on various soft plastic lures like the Vudu Shrimp, Z-Man Baits, and Zoom Flukes. On the fly fishing side of things, white clousers, and black and purple toads have been the hot fly patters the last 8 weeks.
